Normandy-Falaise Pocket Battle Map
This map shows the situation on the Western Front on 18 August 1944 and what is commonly referred to as the "Falaise Pocket." You can clearly see the Germans are about to be completely encircled as Canadian and Polish units are close to meeting up the US 80th and 90th Infantry Divisions. The German units inside the pocket were from 7th Army, and almost all were either killed or captured.
