Operation Varsity Drop Zones Battle Map


Operation Varsity was the final airborne operation of the war and took place on 24 March 1945. It was the largest airborne operation on a single day at a single point. The US 17th Airborne Division and British 6th Airborne Division dropped on the east side of the Rhine to help disrupt German movements towards British troops crossing the Rhine.

This map shows the routes the C-47's took for the operation and the drop and landing zones involved. Also annotated are AAA installations.
