Yorktown, Virginia 1862 Hand Drawn Battle Map
The Civil War Battle of Yorktown took place from April to May 1862 near to same place the final major battle of the Revolution took place in 1781. The battle was more of a siege as McClellan stopped his advance towards Richmond to deal with the Confederate defenses at Yorktown. Before a decisive engagement took place, the Confederates evacuated on the night of 3 May 1862.
This hand drawn maps shows the trenches as well as the units involved in the siege. Also included are some of the Union ships in the York River.
